Hi guys, I'm new here and I am a collector of 22 calibers of all stripes. I actually have several guns I'd be interested in knowing more about, but this is the most interesting to me. The particular Fieldmaster I have is unlike any I have ever seen. The stock and forearm are checkered and the wood is blonde. The checkering isn't particularly intricate, but it is there. The pins holing in the trigger group are silver as is the magazine tube and the metal parts of the slide. The sights are gold.

I does have a serial number stamped into the receiver so i know its after 1967 and would assume its 1978 except someone posted that a code of showing 78 was made in 77. I think confused is an understatement. Anyone have any information that will tell me when this rifle was made.

It was the adl type model. Had small rear and front sights. Had problems with the ammo firing from the beginning. Went back to the factory on warranty issue. They said there was a problem with the barrel, and they replaced the barrel. It shot fine after that. Used a ton of remington long rifle hollow-points to harvest a near ton of squirrels, and a halfton of rabbits, and a quarter ton of groundhogs, etc.

Sorry, all I had was my phone camera so they are not very clear so hopefully you can make it out but I promise that first digit is a 'G' in the serial number in the second photo and I even double checked it after you said that because I was already really wondering why it would not show up when I plugged it in on that 'Remington Automatic Lookup' so now I am REALLY confused and wondering what the heck is going on.
